It used to be a french controlled part of Asia on the eastern side. It was used mainly for its spices. I learned that from history but I remember hearing that it is also used for cheap labor and that they are having housing problems because of floods. The people there eat a type of curry. I tried some type of curry dish with coconut milk in it from a friend that used to live in Indonesia.
