If hypothetically I made a presentation that describes the consequences

of smoking, including the recent indonesian incident with the 2-year old…

Like, if I stated the fact that “Smoking kills 200,000 people each year in Indonesia”

and state the issues of smoking, would I offend someone who smokes?

Or would it annoy the person, etc.

- Curious, because I don’t know how it feels to have an addiction that

affects my health. I have other addictions like computer games, but

I don’t really think that would be same.

I don’t think it would offend people if you choose your words carefully. We only get offended really when someone comes up to you and goes “you do know smoking is bad for you, don’t you?”, “Then why do you smoke?”, or “that is so gross”. If you keep it to the facts and don’t point a smoker out, then they have no reason to get offended. It’s like telling someone they are fat and they need to get in shape. Telling someone that already knows they have a problem that they have a problem upsets them and it doesn’t help them. If you are addressing smokers and non-smokers alike, then it’s a presentation and it is not personal.

its offending to tell us that we’re gross, fake cough when you walk by, hold your breath and think were too stupid to notice, and point out that we (smokers) are all going to die young and have tar-filled lungs. but that’s just the thing. we dont f*cking care. smokers literally dont care what you have to say about us. we will continue to smoke anyways. hand me my pack please.
