I remember a long time ago seeing what appeared to be a hook sword, but the hook was a bit larger, and set in the middle-front of the blade, which split off to extend out as far as a normal sword would otherwise. It it sort of resembled half of a fleur de lis, except as a sword. Is this just a variation of the more common hook sword, or a different weapon altogether?

It does look like the first weapon from the first answer minus the chain and bigger, the size of a normal sword. Except wider as the hook is there.

I think I’ve seen that before, I’m looking into it now.

I still haven’t found anything with this weapon, but I swear I’ve seen it before. It’s driving me crazy, as it must be you.

I think I have seen that drawing as well. I suspect it is in the book “Comprehensive Asian Fighting Arts” by Don Draeger and Robert Smith, tho I am not sure. I happen to have “Weapons and Fighting arts of Indonesia” and it is not in there, the regular hook sword is tho. Good luck I look fore ward to the answer.
