Dilemma written by Bridget: If you had to make a Indonesian mix cd for some one who hasnt been there in two year,what would you put on it?
I am making a mix Cd for my stepmom, sometimes i think she misses indonesia, and ive grown to love the music and culture.
Ive mad some cds before, but i cant keep putting the same artists, what ive made so far was a dandut cd and a ballads/pop cd i have two more, so please any suggestions, great!
Ive used so far kris dayanti, siti nurhaliza, ruth sahanaya, inul daratista, and others like that.

Knowing your stepmom’s age will surely help a lot here. If she’s around 20 y/o she’ll probably enjoy the current gen of Indonesia’s pop music such as Samsons, Nidji, Ungu, Padi, Kerispatih, Peterpan, Sheila On 7, etc.
If she’s around 30 y/o she might also enjoy music from Glenn Fredly, Rio Febrian, Marcell, Kahitna, KLA Project, Chrisye etc.
Or if she’s around 40 y/o she might also enjoy music from Broery, Ebiet G. Ade, Koes Plus/ Koes Bersaudara, Bimbo, Iwan Fals etc.
If you want to know song names you can try searching for “Lagu Indonesia” on Google or other search engines. “Lagu Indonesia” literally translates into “Indonesian Song” in English. I also put a website link for you. Choose the ‘Popular Songs’ menu there. The page lists quite a lot of Indonesian Songs. Though you can only d/l the MIDI file for the songs. But at least you can get their names. Hope this helps.
