“Kota Inten” was a Dutch ship, but the name was not Dutch, but was the name of a town in Riau, Indonesia (“Kota” means ‘town’ in Indonesian), as the ship served as freight carrier between Europe and the Dutch East Indies and regulary transported Muslin pilgrims on voyages between Java and Saudi Arabia.
