Since religion is playing such an important part in this presidential election, let us look at the junior senator from Illinois, Barack Hussein Obama’s, metamorphic religious history;

Barack Obama was originally named “Baraka.” It is not an African name. It’s an Arabic word meaning “blessed” and comes directly from the Koran.

• “Interviews with dozens of former classmates, teachers, neighbors and friends show that Obama was not a regular practicing Muslim when he was in Indonesia” – implying he was an irregularly practicing Muslim.

• “Obama occasionally followed his stepfather to the mosque for Friday prayers, a few neighbors said” – confirming that he did pray in the mosque.

• “Obama’s 3rd-grade teacher at the Catholic school, who lived near the family [said that] ‘Rarely, Barry went to the mosque with Lolo’” – confirming that Obama attended mosque services.

All this matters, Obama once was a Muslim, he is now what Islamic law calls a murtadd (apostate), an ex-Muslim converted to another religion who must be executed. Were he elected president of the United States, this status, clearly, would have large potential implications for his relationship with the Muslim world.

I don’t understand. Are you saying that we should choose our president based on the dictates of the Muslim idelogues? We should limit the ability of American citizens to choose their own religion based on what Islam says has to happen? Seriously?

You are correct … if only the Muslim world didn’t already have issue with US Policy, as they have every since WWII. Now whether or not an apostate is more offensive to a radical than a lifetime Christian, that is another thing. Good question.

What’s the point. I don’t understand why its a problem if he’s Muslim. What Implications do you think their would be? For the life of me I don’t get this. I keep hearing this big news “Baracks a Muslim!!!” So What! His religion is his business. I wouldn’t stop considering voting for someone because they’re Muslim, Jewish, Christian, Buddhist….or ANY religion. Frankly, the first man/ woman to run for office as an Atheist or to just tell the press “It’s none of your business what religion I am”- That person has my vote for sure.

I think this is an interesting question. How firm is the Islamic law that calls for apostates to be executed? Do Muslims practice this now? I’d be curious to hear of any rumblings in the Islamic world that if Obama became President, he would present a great public way to teach the world that the “true Muslims” were serious about upholding Islamic law. Therefore executing him would be required under this law.

The radical fundamentalists are truly crazy enough to make this argument since they hate America with such burning passion anyway.

I disagree with the responders who say this question should be ignored. Thank you for illuminating this point of Islamic law.

When I was in the 3rd grade I walked passed a Catholic church on my way to school….does that make me a child molesting priest? You guys…give it up! Just vote for that nice old man, John McCain and ‘stay the course’ as the reactionaries of the GOP with their fascisti disregard for 21st century reality takes us all over a social and financial cliff and keeps us fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan using borrowed money for a ‘hundred years’. Of course by then our military will have spent so much time there they’ll probably all go native, marry Iraqi girls and decide draw their pensions and stay there..won’t that be nice?

I find it hard to fathom that people are STILL writing about this Muslim thing. He is not Muslim but if he was who cares… look what our christian president has done for us, how many lives have been lost in the Iraq war to date, and we are still there! And many thousands of lives interrupted because of lost limbs and post traumatic stress syndrome, children without fathers or mothers, and I could go on and on. SO.. tell me how good it has been to have man of God to as our president.
